ELIXIR YMI is a high performance yellow metal inhibitor / passivator designed for maximum stability in end user formulations.

ELIXIR YMI offers similar performance as triazole type inhibitors but without the associated environmental persistence and health and safety issues.

ELIXIR YMI offers outstanding environmental properties across all sectors including OSPAR, UK, Norway, Denmark and US GOM, contains no substitutable components and is classified as Non-Hazardous to Health under UK/EU Legislation.

ELIXIR YMI has been screened for performance at 0.25% across a wide range of yellow metals and typically reduced yellow metal corrosion rates across the tests to levels similar to those obtained used triazole type additives.

Depending on the formulation chemistry, ELIXIR YMI may also potentially offer sufficient protection at levels significantly lower than 0.25% in some formulations.

ELIXIR YMI is very soluble in water based systems, contains no nitrites, secondary amines or phosphorous. The additive is extremely stable to temperature variations and to divalent ions and salts typically encountered in Offshore formulations.

ELIXIR YMI is available in 25 litre kegs, 200 litre drums and 1,000 litre IBC containers.

UK customers wishing to use ELIXIR YMI in their formulations are able to request a letter of access towards CEFAS for UK registration of end product/s.
